Sania Mirza and Cara Black beat Hsieh Su-wei and Peng Shuai 6-1, 6-0 to win their first WTA finals trophy as a pair. For Black, this is the third WTA Finals victory. The Indo-Zimbabwean pair looked the best pair throughout the final as they dominated from the word go. The third seeds broke in the third, fifth and seventh games of the first set to seal the first set 6-1. There was no reprieve to the second seeds in the second set as Mirza and Black did not surrender a game as they got a bagel to finish the match.
The defending champions looked out of sorts in the final as Mirza and Black capitalised with superb net play accompanied by winners on both sides of the court.
Mirza and Black had come back from three match points down to defeat Czech-Slovenian pair of Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik 4-6, 7-5, 11-9 to enter the final.
The duo had announced last month that the season finale would be their last tournament together. What a way to end your partnership!
