Sania Mirza has climbed up two spots to break into the top ten women’s doubles player in the world, according to the latest WTA Team Ranking.
Despite not playing last week, Mirza profited from her strong showing in recent weeks when she and her partner Cara Black lifted the China Open earlier this month, and followed that up with another scalp at Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.
Mirza also had an impressive outing at Flushing Meadows in September when she reached the last four of the US Open.
Her doubles partner Cara Black gained a position as well in the rankings table to scale up to number13 in the world.
