The Williams sister met in a final yet again. The younger Williams went on to win the final 7-6(4), 3-6, 6-4. The match went on for 2 hours and 23 minutes.

Not since 99 had a match between these two went on till the third set. Serving from Venus was simply stunning in the second set. As the game progressed, it wore off and Serena capitalized. It was a yet another victory for Serena against her elder sister. Later Serena admitted that if the service from Venus was as good as it was in second set, she wouldn't have had the chance to win the match.

Victory in the 2003 Australian Open Final also meant that Serena held all four major titles. She was the fifth woman to achieve this incredible feat.

To prove everyone that it wasn't mere luck, she repeated the feat again in 2014-15. This feat is also dubbed as the "Serena Slam" by the press.
