India’s top ranked men’s player Somdev Devvarman has dropped out of the top 100 singles rankings as he continues to reocover from his shoulder injury.
Devvarman drops 32 spots in the latest rankings to no. 122 after the 150 points he earned by reaching the finals of the ATP event in Johannesburg in February 2011 dropped off this week. The last time Devvarman was ranked this low was in March 2010 when he was ranked no. 128 in the world.
Meanwhile, 19 year old Yuki Bhambri climbs seven spots to reach a new career best ranking of no. 306. Indian no. 3 Vishnu Vardhan also drops 22 spots to no. 340.
In the doubles rankings, Leander Paes holds on to the no. 7 spot, Rohan Bopanna is static at no. 11 while Mahesh Bhupathi is static at no. 16.
Paes and Czech partner Radek Stepanek hold the top spot in the doubles team rankings thanks to their Australian Open win.
On the WTA rankings, Sania Mirza is holding on to the 7th place in doubles and the no. 111 spot in singles.
