Emma Raducanu vs Linda Noskova preview
2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu will take on Linda Noskova in the second round of the 2024 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix on Thursday.
Raducanu was drawn against three-time Major champion and former World No. 1 Angelique Kerber in her opener here. The match started with three straight service breaks as the two struggled to adjust to the conditions.
Raducanu gained the edge to go 2-1 up and later bagged three games in a row to take the first set. She dominated Kerber in the second set as she dropped just one game in it to score a 6-2, 6-1 win.
Noskova faced a Grand Slam champion in the first round as well as she was up against Jelena Ostapenko. The Czech teen raced to a 4-0 lead courtesy of a double break in the first set.
Noskova later failed to close out the set on her first try as Ostapenko went on a two-game run to make it 5-3. However, the teenager didn't stumble again and nabbed the opener on her second go.
The second set was quite one-sided as Noskova was all over Ostapenko right from the start. She dished out a breadstick to register a comfortable 6-3, 6-1 victory.

Emma Raducanu vs Linda Noskova prediction
Noskova ran circles around Ostapenko in the first round with her game. She went 5/5 on break points and hit 23 winners against 12 unforced errors. The only downside was the eight double faults that she threw in.
Raducanu also played at a pretty good level to make it past Kerber. She struck 26 winners in contrast to 11 unforced errors. She won 65% of her first serve points and saved nine of the 11 break points that she faced.
Raducanu and Noskova's previous and only match was also on clay, which took place at the 2022 French Open. The latter took the lead after she won the first set but the Brit stormed back to win the match in three sets.
Raducanu has been in great form over the past week. She won both of her singles ties during the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers, which were also played on clay and indoors.
Raducanu has really thrived in these conditions, which compliment her game quite well. Even though Noskova has played reasonably well all year long, the Brit has momentum on her side which could give her the necessary edge to advance further.
Pick: Emma Raducanu to win in three sets.
