Ben Shelton revealed that he shares a close bond with his American teammates, including Coco Gauff. The duo often exchange comments on their social media, showcasing their friendship.

Speaking to the media at the Australian Open, Shelton name-dropped Gauff as a close friend in tennis. The American star even mentioned Chris Eubanks as a player with whom he bonds well.

"I'm friends with most of them. Definitely close friends with Coco and Chris Eubanks. We've been watching pretty closely to see if Banks will get in as a lucky loser. He was third, and one guy pulled out," Shelton said.

Daniil Medvedev breaks a racket after a frustrating opening-round win at the Australian Open

Daniil Medvedev let out his frustration on his racket during a tough first-round win at the Australian Open. The Russian needed five sets to get a win and move into the next round.

After going two sets to one down against his Finnish opponent, Medvedev broke his racquet in anger, letting out his frustration. The 2024 runner-up, then went on to win the last two sets to win the match and qualify for the next round.

Danielle Collins asks for privacy amid retirement U-turn

Danielle Collins asked for privacy in her personal life after her retirement U-turn at the end of the 2024 season. The American announced that she would retire at the end of last season but has carried on playing in the new season.

Collins announced a shock retirement to start a family and focus on other things in life, in early 2024. However, things have not gone according to the plan for the 30-year-old, who is competing at the Australian Open. The American has now asked for privacy from the press in her private life.

“While I have been really open about the challenges relating to my endometriosis and starting a family, moving forward I am kindly asking for privacy while I continue to process and work through everything. At this point, I feel I have shared enough information around my health challenges for my fans, the media, and my colleagues to understand the reasons why I have chosen to extend my career for now and continue to work," Collins said.

Goran Ivanisevic makes his debut in Elena Rybakina's box at the Australian Open

Goran Ivanisevic debuted in Elena Rybakina's box during the Australian Open. However, Stefano Vukov was absent from the player's box given the recent controversy around him.

Rybakina won the match in straight sets with Ivanisevic watching from the stands. Vukov is currently under investigation by the WTA and is supposedly banned from coaching any player.
