Iga Swiatek talks about her controversial point against Emma Navarro

Iga Swiatek faced off against Emma Navarro at the Australian Open quarterfinals. The Polish star won the match in straight sets but there was a moment of controversy when the World No. 2 was awarded a point even after returning the ball after a double bounce.

The controversy erupted in the second set when Swiatek was serving. The replay showed the ball clearly bounced twice but Navarro did not challenge the call and the point was awarded to Swiatek. During the post-match conference, Swiatek gave her thoughts on the whole situation:

"Honestly, I didn't see the replay after this point because after the point I didn't look up for the screens because I wanted to stay focused and didn't want this point to stay in my head for longer period of time. I wasn't sure if it was a double bounce or I hit it with my frame. It was hard to say because, like, I was full sprinting. I don't remember, like, even seeing the contact point."

Ben Shelton disappointed by the quality of interviews at the Australian Open

Ben Shelton claimed that he was disappointed with the quality of the on-court interviews at this year's Australian Open. The American cited a couple of examples during his semifinal run which he felt were disrespectful.

Shelton revealed his disappointment during his on-court interview after his win against Gael Monfils and Lorenzo Sonego. The 22-year-old talked about this during the press-conference asking for better questions and more respect towards the players during the interviews.

“There were some comments that were made to me in a couple of interviews by a couple of different guys. 'Oh, Monfils is old enough to be your dad, maybe he is your dad'... Or... 'Hey, Ben, how does it feel that no matter who you'd be playing your next match no one's gonna be cheering for you.'... Well... it may be true, but I just don't think a comment like this is respectful from a guy I never met before in my life.”

Alex de Minaur hits back at a Twitter user after his Australian Open exit

Alex de Minaur replied to a Twitter user who claimed that the Australian had no self-belief that he could beat Jannik Sinner. Sinner defeated the Aussie star in straight sets, breaking his serve seven times.

De Minaur replied to the Twitter user sarcastically, claiming that if he was a professional tennis player, he would have defeated Sinner. The Australian star put him in his place saying:

"Hey mate it's a shame that you never became a good enough player to experience playing Jannik. I'm sure you would've put up a better performance and know exactly how to beat him. Wishing you all the best!!!"
