Danielle Collins' powerful body shot floors Iga Swiatek in Paris Olympics QF

A brutal shot to the body from Danielle Collins left Iga Swiatek in distress during her 6-1, 2-6, 4-1 win in the quarterfinal of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Swiatek was caught unaware by Collins’ strong backhand pass in the second set and fell to the ground clutching her stomach. The American showed her fair play by going to Swiatek’s side of the net to see if she was okay.

Emma Raducanu takes subtle jab at Andy Murray's mother Judy over past controversy

Emma Raducanu appeared to mock Andy Murray’s mother Judy during her women’s singles run at the Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington, D.C.

Raducanu hinted at Judy’s response to her pulling out of the mixed doubles event at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, where she was supposed to team up with Murray. Judy was one of the first to react on X (formerly Twitter) when the news of Raducanu’s withdrawal from the Wimbledon mixed doubles event broke

"Yes, astonishing," Judy Murray wrote.

Raducanu recently shared some photos of her 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 victory over eighth seed Elise Mertens in the first round, on Instagram. Tiafoe, also playing at the event, commented on the post, seemingly inviting Raducanu to play mixed doubles with him.

"Mixed..... @emmaraducanu," Tiafoe wrote.

Raducanu replied:

"Astonishing (laughing emoji)"

VP of Kazakhstan Tennis Federation reveals details of illness that caused Elina Rybakina's withdrawal from Paris Olympics

Dias Doskarayev, vice president of the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation, has clarified the health issues behind Elena Rybakina's withdrawal from the 2024 Paris Olympics. Rybakina's withdrawal statement disclosed her diagnosis of "acute bronchitis" and mentioned that doctors had advised her not to play.

"Immediately after Wimbledon, Elena was advised to recuperate, which was necessary after a long tournament," he said in his answers posted on the organization’s official Instagram page (translated).

After her Wimbledon semifinal defeat to Barbora Krejcikova in July, Rybakina traveled to Turkey, which drew criticism in light of her subsequent Olympics withdrawal. Dias Doskarayev explained that despite her best efforts, Rybakina fell ill during her pre-Olympics training in Turkey.

"As a result it was decided that a brief vacation and sea air in Turkey would do her good. There she underwent light training on general physical preparation, including swimming, stretching, jogging and so on," he said.
"After that, the intensive preparatory period for the Olympics with comprehensive on-court training began – that’s when Elena started to feel health problems," he added.

Elina Rybakina's withdrawal from the Paris Olympics, mere hours after the draw, resulted in Kazakhstan losing out on two potential medal opportunities in women's singles and mixed doubles, where she was partnered with Alexander Bublik.
