Novak Djokovic admiringly teases wife Jelena for her relentless efforts in their foundation
Novak Djokovic praised his wife, Jelena, for her dedication to raising awareness about early childhood development through the Novak Djokovic Foundation.
Jelena is set to host a series of talks featuring parenting expert Dr. Gordon Neufeld across Serbia from October 4-15. Djokovic shared a picture on Instagram, featuring himself gazing into a mirror on a pop-up display, with the words "Parenting", and "The story is about me not my child" written above it in Croatian.
In a playful caption, Djokovic lauded his wife’s efforts and humorously teased her focus.
"All @jelenadjokovicndf talks about nowadays is parenting conferences and Dr Gordon Neufeld…even in front of the mirror - I swear. Every year, Team @novakfoundation host events educating parents on early childhood development. They raise awareness, funds and most importantly - help raise healthy children. So worth talking to a mirror about!" Djokovic wrote.
Recently, Novak Djokovic helped Serbia to a 3-1 victory over Greece in the 2024 Davis Cup World Group 1, securing a spot in the 2025 Davis Cup qualifiers. Djokovic is now preparing to return to the Shanghai Masters (October 2-13), marking his first appearance at the tournament in five years.

Carlos Alcaraz confronts the chair umpire after receiving two time violations at China Open
Carlos Alcaraz received a penalty for a time violation at set point during his second offense in the first set of his Beijing opener against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. The 2024 China Open uses an automatic shot clock, giving players 25 seconds to serve, with violations issued if they exceed the limit.
After breaking Perricard in the first game, both held serve until Alcaraz served for the set at 5-4. Perricard fought to 40-0 but missed three break points. At deuce, Alcaraz reached set point but was penalized, losing his first serve. Despite the setback, he won the set 6-4.
Afterward, the Spanish tennis star reportedly engaged in a heated exchange with the chair umpire, voicing his frustration.
"I'm always very quick, I never get warnings. You gave me two in one set. It's impossible to play tennis like this," Alcaraz reportedly said.
Second seed Carlos Alcaraz advanced to the second round where he will take on Tallon Griekspoor on September 29. The winner of the match will face either seventh seed Karen Khachanov or Francisco Cerundolo in the quarterfinals of the China Open.
Tennis legend Boris Becker extends supportive message to Lewis Hamilton during the latter's emotional tribute to Daniel Ricciardo
Boris Becker responded to Lewis Hamilton's farewell message for fellow Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo, who was recently dropped from the Red Bull-owned RB team.
On September 26, Red Bull announced that Liam Lawson would replace Ricciardo for the rest of the 2024 season. Ricciardo, who won seven races with Red Bull from 2014 to 2018 and claimed victory at the 2021 Italian Grand Prix with McLaren, now faces the possibility of his F1 career coming to an end.
Hamilton shared several Instagram photos showcasing his friendship with Ricciardo, along with a heartfelt message praising the Australian and assuring him of continued support.
"@danielricciardo it’s been a honour to compete with you over the years. I’ll never forget the battles, the laughs, and drinking out of your shoe. It was gross, but glad I got to do it with you bud," Hamilton wrote.
"You leave a legacy of always being yourself, which in this sport is never easy. You’ve taken it all with the biggest smile and I salute you for it. There is so much more for you up ahead and I can’t wait to see what you do next. Always here for you, man," Hamilton added.
Becker reacted to Hamilton's post with a brief, one-word response.
"Word," Becker wrote in the comments section of Hamilton's post.
Caroline Garcia acknowledges mental health challenges as she ends 2024 season early to prioritize her well-being
Caroline Garcia has decided to withdraw from the remainder of the 2024 season due to panic attacks and anxiety. Following her 6-7(4), 5-7 loss to fifth seed Magdalena Frech at the WTA 500 event in Guadalajara, Garcia announced her decision to step away from the season.
The 2022 US Open semifinalist shared a detailed note on X (formerly Twitter), stating:
"Guadalajara marked the end of my 2024 season. It wasn’t an easy decision, because in tennis, every week off feels like falling behind—losing ranking points and “missing” opportunities. But I know this is the right call to come back stronger in 2025 and fight for those big moments again."
The former World No. 4 acknowledged that her mindset this year had become "toxic," as she lost the joy of playing tennis by focusing too much on rankings and victories.
Garcia ends 2024 with 17 wins out of 34 matches, with her best performance being reaching two semifinals in Guadalajara and Rouen.
