Jannik Sinner has expressed his heartbreak at missing the 2024 Paris Olympics due to tonsillitis. Though he didn't follow the events closely, he took comfort in Lorenzo Musetti's bronze medal win over Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.

Sinner, who was set to be the top seed in singles and doubles, revealed to journalist Giovanni Pelazzo that winning a medal was a major goal for the season.

"I saw some of the Olympics, although I didn't watch much tennis. It broke my heart not to be able to go to Paris, the Games were one of my main goals of the season," Jannik Sinner said.

The Italian also hopes to see the Italian duo of Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini win gold in the women's doubles final.

"In the end though, looking at everything from a broader perspective, Musetti won a bronze, so an Italian is happy and I am happy for him. Let's hope for gold tomorrow. I don't know what my schedule will be like tomorrow yet, but if I have time, why not, I'd be happy," he added.

Top seed Jannik Sinner will begin his title defense at the National Bank Open in Canada. The Italian received a bye into the second round where he will take on either a qualifier or Pedro Martinez on August 7.

Sinner, along with partner Jack Draper, will take on 16th seed Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen in the first round of men's doubles at the National Bank Open.

Andy Murray's wife Kim Sears discusses the reasons behind her struggle to watch her husband's matches

Andy Murray's wife Kim Sears has admitted she struggles to watch her husband compete due to his intense playing style. Murray's final professional appearance was at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he and his partner Dan Evans lost in the quarterfinals to the eventual bronze medalists Americans Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul.

The LTA shared a touching video with messages from his family and friends, where Sears shared that it was "unbelievably stressful" to watch Murray compete.

"I really struggle now to watch Andy play. I think probably as being a mum and having four other little people to worry about, I find it unbelievably stressful. I've never seen or known anyone rise to a challenge like he does," Andy Murray's wife said (at 8:40).

Sears added that Murray was good under pressure and gave exciting matches, but made them hard to watch and "unpleasant" for her.
