Russian legend backs Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek despite doping controversy
Russian tennis ace Nikolay Davydenko has backed Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek despite their doping issues. Both Sinner and Swiatek tested positive for doping during the 2024 season but were allowed to compete.
Speaking to Match TV in a recent interview, Davydenko claimed that doping would not help an average player become World No. 1. The Russian added that Sinner and Swiatek are good enough to be the best players in the world irrespective of doping.
"Sinner is playing very well, he is great. I like his tactics on the court, it is not about doping. I saw him in 2019, compared to now, the difference is very decent. Jannik started to play differently. The tactics changed seriously, so many do not have time to play with him."
Nick Kyrgios and Piers Morgan sit together for an interview
Piers Morgan shed light on his past interaction with Nick Kyrgios during a recent interview between the duo. Kyrgios had no love lost for Morgan and called the British journalist 'controversial' in the past.
During the latest episode of 'Good Trouble with Nick Kyrgios', Piers and Kyrgios reminisced about their past relationship. Morgan reminded the Aussie star that he had called him controversial in the past before both agreed that they are seen differently in the public eye.
"Being called controversial by you is really quite something. I like being at the centre of controversy. I like being at the centre of debate. I like putting my head over the parapet, saying what I think and being challenged about it. I'm probably the least opinionated person in my family." Morgan said.
