Novak Djokovic leaves a heartfelt message for Juan Martin del Potro
Novak Djokovic admitted that he was saddened by Juan Martin del Potro's retirement. The Argentine star retired in 2022 but will compete in a farewell match against Djokovic in Buenos Aires.
Speaking ahead of the match, Djokovic sympathized with Del Potro and his injury record. The Serbian star said that del Potro would have had a legendary career if not for all his injury concerns.
"His career is legendary as it has been, but I believe that, as all of us here would agree, he has had bad luck with injuries. Surely his career could have been greater if he had not had knee injuries. I have had some serious injuries, but not with such bad luck as him," Djokovic said.
Nick Kyrgios gives his thoughts on Iga Swiatek's doping controversy

Iga Swiatek claimed that she did not know how the banned substance entered her body which received a strong reaction from Kyrgios. The Aussie star said that every player is careful about what enters their body and the Pole is making 'excuses' after being tested positive.
"The excuse that we can all use is that we didn’t know. Simply didn’t know. Professionals at the highest level of sport can now just say “we didn’t know," Kyrgios wrote.

WADA director makes major claim after Iga Swiatek and Jannik Sinner doping tests
WADA Director, Olivier Niggli, shared his thoughts on the doping controversy in tennis. ATP World No. 1, Jannik Sinner and former WTA World No. 1, Iga Swiatek both tested positive for doping during the 2024 season.
Niggli claimed that tennis players could be easily contaminated by doing harmless things. He further added players have to be a bit more careful to avoid such issues.
"Today there is a contamination problem. This does not mean that there are more cases of this kind than in the past, the fact is that laboratories are more efficient in detecting even infinitesimal quantities of substances. The quantities are so small that you can get contaminated by doing harmless things," Niggli told L'Equipe.
Andrey Rublev is struggling with depression according to his coach
Andrey Rublev's coach, Fernando Vicente has opened up about the Russian's battle with depression. Vicente claimed that Rublev is struggling with his mental health and visits a psychologist several times during the week. The coach further added that it is normal for tennis players and hoped that the Russian would recover soon.
Vicente further added that Rublev and his team had a conversation with the Russian regarding his anger issues which are often on display during his matches. However, he believed that this situation was normal in professional tennis.
"We tried to be close to him, to support him, we went to the psychologist three times a week, where the conversation revolved around Rublev remembering where he was when it all started and what heights he managed to reach. This is a normal situation. As a coach, I also face many problems throughout the year," Vicente said.
