During an interaction with Events DC at the Mubadala Citi DC Open, Badosa was asked to invite Tsitsipas to the tournament. The Spaniard revealed that she had, but Tsitsipas chose to compete in the Summer Olympics instead.
"I told him to (play at the Citi Open) but he preferred to go to Olympics," Badosa said.
The 26-year-old added that his campaign has been successful so far and jestingly described his upcoming opponent, Djokovic, as "not really good."
"(Tsitsipas is doing) good (at the Olympics). He's playing tomorrow. So the thing is tomorrow he's playing a player that's not really good, Novak," she added.

Just seconds into the fight, Carini left the ring, sparking Navratilova, a strong opponent of transgender athletes in women's sports, to vent her anger on X.

Novak Djokovic fearful of knee injury resurgence before Paris Olympics SF match
Novak Djokovic voiced concern about his knee injury returning following his 6-3, 7-6(3) victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarterfinal at the Summer Olympics in Paris.

During his match against Tsitsipas, Djokovic limped and requested medical assistance. After concluding the match, the Serb reported severe pain in the knee but couldn't pinpoint the reason.
"I am very worried, to be honest. I don’t know what to say. The pain was very strong for two games after it happened. I don’t know if I slipped or what happened," Djokovic said (via a post on X by journalist Sasa Ozmo).
"It resembled Roland Garros, where I managed to close out the match, only to find out that the injury was serious. I pray to God for everything to be OK," he added.
Top seed Novak Djokovic will take on Italy's Lorenzo Musetti in the semifinal on August 2.
