Andy Roddick hilariously invites former rival Roger Federer to his podcast

Andy Roddick humorously invited his former rival Roger Federer to appear as a guest on his podcast, 'Served.' During an interview with Tennis Channel, Federer discussed the launch of his new RF Collection in partnership with Wilson and was also asked about Roddick, who has recently joined the American sports equipment manufacturing giant.

Roddick shared the clip of the interview on X (formerly Twitter), joking that he purposely lost the Wimbledon finals to Federer in 2004, 2005, and 2009, and suggested that the least the Swiss could do in return is accept his podcast invitation.

"Whatever. Nobody likes @rogerfederer anyways …… That being said, I think we’d still allow him on @Served_Podcast Least he can do for me throwing all those Wimby finals …." Andy Roddick wrote.

Andre Agassi imagines the 'perfect' tennis player ft. Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Carlos Alcaraz

Andre Agassi crafted the 'perfect' tennis player by combining the skills of Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, John Isner, and himself. In a video shared by the US Open's official X account, Agassi was asked to design the ideal tennis player using five key attributes, each matched with the player who excels in that area.

For the first attribute, serve, Agassi noted that it was the easiest to choose since it's the only standalone shot in tennis. He selected John Isner as the best server. When it came to the forehand, Agassi emphasized the multiple factors to consider, such as versatility and return options, and ultimately chose Roger Federer.

"So many ways to judge a forehand - versatility, return, options. I probably would go Federer," Agassi said in the video.

For the backhand, Agassi opted for himself, explaining that the shot had been instrumental in his success. For speed, he considered three players ---Carlos Alcaraz, Alex de Minaur, and Tommy Paul. Lastly, for mentality, Agassi picked Novak Djokovic as the top contender.

"Without question, I go Novak Djokovic. When Novak makes up his mind that he's going to lock down... He's going to go up a level. You see him use his speed defensively, lock down mentally, and you see him recognize when the tone of the match needs to change," Agassi added.

Stefanos Tsitsipas and father Apostolos end coaching partnership after Canadian Open spat

Stefanos Tsitsipas has announced that his father Apostolos will no longer serve as his coach. The decision follows a tense on-court exchange between the two during Tsitsipas' second-round match against Kei Nishikori at the National Bank Open in Montreal, which resulted in a 4-6, 4-6 loss.

After the match, the Greek expressed his desire for a coach more receptive to his feedback, implying dissatisfaction with his father's coaching. Soon after, Tsitsipas posted on X that he had released Apostolos from coaching duties, preferring him to focus solely on being a father.

"It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that my collaboration with my father as a coach has come to an end. I prefer to keep my father in his role as a father, and only as a father," he wrote (translated from Greek).

Stefanos Tsitsipas also apologized for his behavior towards Apostolos during the match, attributing it to frustration over perceived "errors."

Roger Federer unveils new RF racket collection with Wilson

Roger Federer has teamed up with Wilson to create a new signature racquet, the RF 01, inspired by his twin daughters, Myla Rose and Charlene Riva, and twin sons, Leo and Lenny.

Federer and Wilson recently unveiled the RF 01, which the Swiss star designed during a period of injury late in his tennis career. In a recent interview with Forbes, the 43-year-old revealed that he envisioned needing a faster racquet to perform at his best when he returned to the court.

"As we started building it, I was still thinking what do I need to come back? I started thinking for other players, what could they also use? I was doing quite extensive racquet testing and we landed here in a spot where I think the weight, the size, the shape of the frame, we landed on this very quickly," the Swiss told Forbes.

Having been associated with Wilson since 1998, the Swiss ensured the racquet design included a pair of slender white lines, a subtle tribute to his twins.

Taylor Townsend in disbelief After beating Jelena Ostapenko to reach Canadian Open QF

Taylor Townsend was astonished after her 6-2, 6-1 victory over fourth seed Jelena Ostapenko in the third round of the 2024 National Bank Open.

In her post-match on-court interview, Townsend shared that she arrived just six minutes before the match and hadn't had a proper warm-up. The 28-year-old noted that she only managed two bike sprints before stepping onto the court but was pleased it worked out in her favor.

"This was a crazy day you guys. Let me tell you a story. We were playing not before 12.30 I got here at 12.24. I don’t know how the hell I did it. Maybe it’s because I wasn’t thinking. I just came out and played. I didn’t hit a ball. I didn’t warm up. I literally did 2 bike sprints and I was like alright let’s go. So I guess that worked," she said.
"I guess you just gotta get lucky every once in a while right?" she added.

Taylor Townsend, who is set to become World No. 52 after the tournament, will take on compatriot Emma Navarro in the quarterfinal on August 9.
