Novak Djokovic bemoans subpar display in Wimbledon 2R victory

Novak Djokovic was not pleased with his performance in his second-round 6-3, 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 win against World No. 277 Jacob Fearnley, who was making his Wimbledon debut.
In his on-court interview, the Serb confessed that he lacked the winner’s attitude and he did not feel at ease with himself.
"I don't know if I really had the champion's mentality today. I was not comfortable in my own skin, particularly in the third and fourth set. Sometimes you have rough days where you are not feeling your best, and it also depends on your opponent across the net," Djokovic said.
Djokovic also noted that his knee felt better but didn't use it as an excuse for his subpar play.
“I was feeling ok. Feeling alright. Don’t wanna be looking for any excuses of the performance today. Credit to Jacob. On my side, I should’ve done things better in the 3rd when I was a break up. Very swirly conditions today.. physically I felt well. Can I be playing better and moving better? Absolutely. I hope as the tournament progresses I’ll be feeling better each day," he said.
The World No. 2 will take on Alexei Popyrin in the third round on July 6.
Linda Noskova's mother reportedly passed away on the eve of Wimbledon Championships

Linda Noskova’s mother Ivana reportedly died on Sunday, June 30, just a day before the 2024 Wimbledon Championships began. Daniela Hutkova, the manager of tennis club TK Precheza where Noskova used to train, has reportedly verified the news of the 19-year-old’s mother’s sad demise to Czech media outlet Denik.cz.
Noskova, who was seeded 26th, started her grass-court Grand Slam campaign with a 7-6(3), 6-1 victory over Sara Errani to reach the second round where she lost 6-3, 7-6(5) to Bianca Andreescu.
In doubles, Noskova teamed up with Rebeka Masarova, but they were eliminated in the first round by Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova 6-3, 7-6(5) on July 4.
Katie Boulter discloses boyfriend Alex De Minaur's supportive advice following Wimbledon 2R loss

Katie Boulter shared her boyfriend Alex de Minaur's encouraging words after her second-round 4-6, 6-1, 7-6(8) defeat to fellow Brit Harriet Dart at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.
In her post-match press conference, Boulter mentioned that de Minaur's support was crucial in lifting her spirits following the disappointing defeat.
"One match doesn’t define my career. That’s the first thing he (Alex de Minaur) said to me when I got off the court," Boulter said.
Ninth seed Alex de Minaur cruised past compatriot James Duckworth and Jaume Munar in straight sets to reach the third round where he will take on Lucas Pouille on July 6.
