Former World No. 9 Andrea Petkovic commended Jannik Sinner's playing style following his victory at the 2024 US Open.

Sinner secured his second Grand Slam title by defeating home favorite Taylor Fritz 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 in the final. On his path to his first US Open crown, the Italian tennis star defeated Mackenzie McDonald, Alex Michelsen, Christopher O'Connell, Tommy Paul, Daniil Medvedev, Jack Draper, and finally Fritz.

Despite some sections of the tennis community, finding Sinner's style less thrilling, Petkovic countered these views, describing his form on the court as "a thing of beauty."

"For anybody who finds his [Sinner's] tennis boring, I would urge you to try and see him live if you can. The way he moves, always in perfect balance, the way his body is leaned slightly forward as if going down a slope on skis, is a thing of beauty. No matter how hard you hit at him, he never falls out of his equilibrium," Petkovic wrote in her blog Finite Jest (via Substack).

Paula Badosa and Coco Gauff engage in playful banter over a bedside poster of the American

Paula Badosa and Coco Gauff engaged in some lighthearted banter after the former joked about falling asleep with a poster of the latter hanging over her bed.

Both players recently wrapped up their US Open campaigns, with defending champion Gauff losing 3-6, 6-4, 3-6 to fellow American Emma Navarro in the Round of 16. Navarro then defeated Badosa 6-2, 7-5 in the quarterfinals.

The Spanish tennis star shared a playful post featuring the Gauff poster in her hotel room.

"Sleeping with good company," Badosa posted on her Instagram story.

Gauff hilariously responded, assuring Badosa that she wouldn’t give her any "nightmares."

"Hahaha 🤣 promise not to give you any nightmares lolll," Gauff responded.

In the latest development on Jannik Sinner's doping case, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has requested more documentation before appealing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The investigation remains open, with WADA needing additional information from the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA), which had previously ruled that Sinner’s positive tests for Clostebol were unintentional, allowing him to avoid a ban.

Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera reported that WADA received a 50-page report but found it insufficient. The 21-day appeal period will begin once WADA receives the required documents.
