On that note, here is a list of today's top tennis news:
Alexis Ohanian slams a Twitter user after a war of words
Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian was engaged in a war of words with a user on Twitter. The American business tycoon used the lyrics of American rapper Kendrick Lamar's song for a post on Twitter, which did not go well with the user.
Ohanian posted on Twitter:
"Yeah, keep your head down and work like I do. But understand everybody ain't gon' like you," the lyrics from 'Wacced Out Murals', a track from the 37-year-old rapper's sixth studio album 'GNX'
A user on Twitter slammed Ohanian for his tweet and said that the Reddit co-founder should 'be better' as he is married to Serena Williams. Ohanian replied to it by posting the user's picture on Twitter, writing -
'Bro you ain't from Compton through marriage'.
Stefanos Tsitsipas makes a bold claim about his parents
Stefanos Tsitsipas shared a cryptic message about his parents being 'narcissistic' in the latest update. The Greek took to Instagram and claimed that he was brought up by 'narcissistic parents'.
Tsitsipas ended his coaching relationship with his dad, Apostolos, during the middle of the season. The Greek star fondly looked back at the year, including time spent with his girlfriend Paula Badosa. However, Tsitsipas also shared a video of a narrator speaking about narcissistic parents on his Instagram story.
"The child of a narcissistic parent learns early that love is conditional. They quickly understand they’ll only be loved for what they do, not who they are. They sense their parents cannot meet their emotional needs, so they learn to perform: exceling in sports, academics or becoming their parents’ confidant and emotional support," the narrator was heard as saying.
WTA sends a strong message to female stars after Paula Badosa controversy
The WTA has sent a strong-worded email to the female tennis stars to avoid making 'distasteful' posts. This came after Paula Badosa and Magda Linette made controversial posts during the Asian swing.
The WTA top bosses urged the players to respect the 'culture of every country' and warned against 'distasteful content' following an email. The parts of the email sent to the WTA stars read;
“Tournaments and countries host us as their guests at considerable effort and expense, and it is of absolute importance to respect the local culture of the regions we compete in, all of which make our global Tour a success.”
“Distasteful content of any kind (such as images, references, text, video) relating to the culture, history, or hurtful stereotypes of a group of people or a region is inconsistent with the values the WTA represents and will not be tolerated.”
Andy Roddick drops hints about the player that he respects the least
Andy Roddick recently gave a clue about the player that he respected the least. The American star was not referring to Nick Kyrgios despite having differences with the Australian.
While speaking during his podcast, Roddick was asked to name the player he respected the least. The former World No. 1 declined to reveal the player's identity but gave a few hints for the listeners. Roddick described why he disliked the player, recounting an incident when he lost to him and was furious with himself.
"The ‘why’ is more important. It’s not because I don’t respect people as humans," Roddick clarified.
"I won't name a name but there's a player who is probably the fastest guy I have ever seen, best body I have ever seen, and his career-high ranking is No. 6 or 7. I got into it one time irrationally with him, he’s like the nicest guy in the world. And I lost to him and I was so pissed," Roddick said.
