Fans slam Simona Halep for acting as a 'victim' on social media

Tennis fans on social media slammed Simona Halep for playing the 'victim card' after her recent comments about Iga Swiatek and Jannik Sinner. The former World No. 1 claimed that she was subjected to unfair treatment compared to other players following a positive test for a prohibited substance.

Halep received a four-year suspension after testing positive for a banned substance, Trimetazidine, after the US Open 2022. Earlier this year the ban was reduced to nine months. However, the Romanian star complained about her long ban compared to Swiatek and Sinner.

The fans however felt that Halep was playing the 'victim card'. Other believed that the Romanian should concentrate on playing tennis again rather than making controversial statements.

"Simona need to stop playing the victim," a fan tweeted
"Why anyone is giving her any oxygen or airtime for these LIES is bizarre. It is *not* the same. I suggest everyone reads all the cases in depth. As opposed to believing her clickbait," one fan wrote.
"She had 2 PED offenses separated by mnths, PED amounts unsupported by tainted supplement mistakes, bio passport issues unlike Sinner/Swiatek, Mouratoglou taking blame over 1 yr from 1st failed test, & no chain of custody within 24 hrs of notification; it's not the same," a fan commented.
