Taylor Fritz lost his opening match of the 2025 season against Auger Felix-Aliassime. The American was bombarded with hate comments after the match, from the people on social media.
In the messages, Fritz was called a 'p***y' and 's**m' by the people online. The 27-year-old posted a screenshot of the messages and claimed that the tennis season is officially back.

Stefanos Tsitsipas rants about a weakness in his game
Stefanos Tsitsipas looked a frustrated figure during his United Cup match against Alexander Shevchenko. The Greek struggled with his backhand as he suffered a loss in the first match of the season.
During the break in play, Tsitsipas was seen talking about his one-handed backhand. The former World No. 3 was disappointed by the quality of his backhand which resulted in him losing a few points during the match.
"My backhand doesn’t go anywhere. I need to put a f**king truck behind it for it to go. It’s impossible to do anything with it," Tsitsipas was overheard saying.
Naomi Osaka hints at an early retirement to spend time with her daughter
In an honest assessment, Naomi Osaka claimed that she might retire from tennis earlier than expected. The Japanese star admitted to shifting priorities since the birth of her daughter Shai in 2023.
Osaka, currently ranked as the World No. 57, claimed that the 2024 season 'humbled her' as she could not get the best out of her. The former US Open champion said that she might hang up her boots sooner rather than later if the results do not go her way.
“I don’t think I’m the type of player that would hang around. I have a lot of respect for all the players on tour, but the point of my life that I’m at right now, if I’m not above a certain ranking, I don’t see myself playing for a while. I’d rather spend time with my daughter if I’m not where I think I should be and where I feel like I can be,” Osaka said.

The controversy around Naomi Osaka's ASB Classic opponent Lina Glushko
Naomi Osaka kickstarted her 2024 season with a straight-set win over Lina Glushko. The Japanese star won the match in straight sets, however, it was her opponent who stole the limelight as she became a target of some protests.
Glushko's parents are originally from Ukraine but moved to Israel before her birth. She has also served in the Israel Defence Force, which is mandatory for people growing up in the country.
During her match against Osaka, some protestors were chanting against her country. The protestors were outside the stadium so escaped the sanction of the security but Glushko looked unaffected by the same and the match continued without any disruptions.
