Tennis pro launches wacky 'Wimble-bum' shorts

London, June 28 (IANS) British tennis pro James Ward has designed the 'Wimble-bum' shorts that have special padding in the shape of two tennis balls -- to make the long process of ticket-buying more bearable.

So, if your legs grow weary, you can take a pitch-side seat without losing your place in the queue, reports express.co.uk.

Ward, who ranks 177 in the world, even sported a pair himself as he dished them out to the waiting crowds at Wimbledon.

Working with the 29-year-old tennis star, company Direct Line hit the Wimbledon queue recently with a stash of the wacky shorts to donate to needy fans.

The insurance firm wrote on Twitter: "The #directfix team is up bright and early for #Wimbledon to fix discomfort at #TheQueue. Tweet and we'll help."

Fans certainly took them up on their offer.

Sharing their "short selfies", Wimbledon devotees used Twitter to thank Ward and Direct Line for the shorts.

Seema Jaswal tweeted: "That moment when you wish you'd thought of this yourself! Wimble-Bum shorts! Show some bumlove when in #WimbledonQueue."

Sporting her pair, Emily Ketchen and a friend shared an image of them wearing the shorts while waiting impatiently in the queue, writing: "Balls to this queue #thequeue."

Posing pitch-side, Ward gave a shot at modelling -- as he donned a pair of the shorts for a photoshoot.

Ward tweeted: "My bum look big in this? New Wimble-Bum shorts help to fix the discomfort of queuing hours for #Wimbledon #directfix."
