As a junior, Thanasi Kokkinakis reached two Grand Slam finals in singles. Along with Nick Kyrgios, he forms one of the few pairings who have won a major in juniors as well as on the pro circuit. Kokkinakis broke into the Top-100 way back in 2015, but has faced injuries almost every year since then. One of his biggest wins came at the Miami Open in 2018, where he defeated former world No. 1 Roger Federer in three sets in the second round.

Kokkinakis has an aggressive style of play, primarily based on overpowering his opponents from the baseline. He has a huge first serve and a sensational forehand. Kokkinakis also feeds off the crowd’s energy, but often finds it hard closing out matches under pressure. His momentum-heavy game can be advantageous at times, but also leads to his downfall on some occasions.
