American rap sensation Lil Wayne is a big tennis fan. His passion for the sport was evident when he correctly predicted Rafael Nadal to win the men's singles title and Kim Clijsters to win the women's singles title at the 2010 US Open.

Nadal enjoyed a fairytale run at Flushing Meadows, defeating Teymuraz Gabashvili, Denis Istomin, Gilles Simon, Feliciano Lopez, Fernando Verdasco, and Mikhail Youzhny to set up a clash against Novak Djokovic in the final.

The then-24-year-old defeated Djokovic 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 to complete a Career Grand Slam—a remarkable feat achieved by winning each of the four Majors. The victory cemented his place among the greatest players in the sport's history.

Wayne, who wrote a letter expressing his love for tennis, particularly for Andre Agassi, the Williams sisters, Maria Sharapova, and Rafael Nadal, coincidentally predicted the Spaniard's historic victory.

"I genuinely appreciate this opportunity to express my love for tennis. One of the main reasons I enjoy the sport so much is because when I actually tried to play, it was unbelievably difficult. So ever since, I have been drawn to the greatest talents of the same," the rapper wrote.
"Not to mention, Andre Agassi was like a pop star when I was a kid. I love the Williams sisters. I simply adore Maria Sharapova and I am a huge [Rafael] Nadal fan," he added.

The 'Lollipop'-famed singer wrote:

"I am definitely rooting for him to get the [Career] Grand Slam and win the US Open. He has already become the 2nd youngest player to win 8 Major titles before the age of 25. He is halfway there to Roger's 16. And even while battling knee tendonitis, he is still ranked #1."
"His Wimbledon performance was one of a kind. He simply plays with pure passion and leaves it all out there on the court. With [Juan Martin] Del Potro pulling out of this year's Open with injury, Nadal's only threats are obviously Federer, [Novak] Djokovic, and [Andy] Roddick's aggressive play. But the player that scares me the most is Andy Murray, who's beaten Rafael four times. Even still I say, 'Nadal wins it all!'" he added.

Lil Wayne also predicted Kim Clijsters' win at the New York Major against Vera Zvonareva in the championship match, stating:

"By the way, I am giving the edge to [Kim] Clijsters in the women's singles due to Serena's right foot."

Rafael Nadal: "'Winning the US Open 2010 is more than I dreamt"

In his victory speech after winning the 2010 US Open, Rafael Nadal said that winning the tournament was more than just a dream for him and was "unbelievable."

"Winning the US Open (2010) is more than I dreamt," the Mallorcan said. "Just to arrive to the final was amazing and to have the trophy in my hands in a few seconds with my heart beating is going to be unbelievable.

The 22-time Major champion added:

"For the first time in my career I played a very, very good match in this tournament. I played my best match in the US Open at the most important moment."
