Irish horse racing jockey Tony McCoy said that Andy Murray is hard to beat and that his Wimbledon triumph places him ahead for the SPOTY award

Veteran horse racing jockey, Tony McCoy, showered accolades on reigning Wimbledon Champion Andy Murray, saying that the Brit deserves to win the Sports Personality of the Year (SPOTY) award, more than him.

“I think everyone who has been nominated deserves to be there,” BBC quoted McCoy. “Andy Murray is the obvious one, becoming the first British man to win Wimbledon in 77 years, which is a fantastic achievement.

“Everyone thinks Andy will win it, and probably rightly so, but it’s great to be part of it again and I’m sure it will be a good evening,” he added.

McCoy had claimed this prestigious award back in 2010, thereby becoming the first jockey player ever to achieve the feat.
