Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz are set to take on Karolina Muchova and Tomas Machac in the United Cup semifinal tie between the USA and the Czech Republic.

Gauff, a former doubles World No. 1, has paired well with Fritz all week as the two have notched up two wins from the two matches played in the round-robin contest.

The duo beat Leylah Fernandez and Felix Auger-Aliassime in their opening match of the tournament before taking out Ivan Dodig and Petra Marcinko to maintain a clean record. They did not drop any sets in the two victories.

Machac, meanwhile, has taken the lead in the Czech partnership given his credentials as an Olympic mixed doubles champion. He and Muchova started the tournament well, beating Ulrikke Eikeri and Viktor Durasovic 6-4, 6-4.

They, however, came up short against the Polish duo of Iga Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz in their second round-robin match to register a 1-1 win-loss record at the tournament.

Given their showings at the United Cup, Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz will come into the contest as the favorites to win.

Both players possess big weapons in the form of their serve, which is an even bigger asset in doubles. They have stayed solid in the department all tournament and will look to win a fair few easy points against Karolina Muchova and Tomas Machac as well.

The Czech duo, however, are no pushovers. Two of the most dynamic players at the tournament, Muchova and Machac are comfortable playing in any part of the court.
