Coco Gauff and Leylah Fernandez will carry out national team duties for the US and Canada, respectively, in a Group A meeting of the 2025 United Cup on Sunday, December 29, at Perth's RAC Arena.

Gauff will return to competitive tennis for the first time since lifting the 2024 WTA Finals trophy in November. She won three tournaments in 2024, including the ASB Classic and China Open, ending her season with a 54/17 win/loss record.

The American began her last two seasons with victorious openings at the WTA 250 in Auckland. However, she's going to start her Australian Open tune-up at the mixed-team tournament Down Under this year.
