The home boy John Isner will take on 101st ranked Filippo Volandri in his first round encounter at the US Open 2013. His confidence will be sky high, having defeated the World No.1 Novak Djokovic and World No.5 Juan Martin Del Porto at the recently concluded hard-court event.

Filippo Volandri will have to dish out a top class performance to stand a chance against his much higher ranked opponent. Having reached the final of the San Marino Challenger series, Volandri will be looking to cause an upset at the US Open.

The two players will be meeting for the first time in their career and John Isner will definitely be the favourite for this match.

Florian Mayer vs Juan Monaco

With both of them on equal terms, match will be decided on who plays the game better on Tuesday. Juan Monaco holds a little advantage according to the tennis experts and he is the one who will be favoured for the match.
