Post Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Elina Svitolina had suggested that she would not be shaking hands with Russian and Belarusian players at the end of the match. Post her win over Azarenka at the 2023 Wimbledon, the crowd started booing her as the two appeared to walk off the court without shaking hands.
