An exhibition match between Roger Federer and Grigor Dimitrov took a positive turn of events, when a 12-year-old boy was invited on court to knock around with the Swiss maestro.
Wearing a hoodie and jeans and barely dressed for the occasion, the kid calmly played a back-and-forth rally with Federer, before ending the point with a perfectly timed lob that sailed over the World No. 2’s head and landed just inside the baseline. That sent the crowd into delirium; after all, it’s not every day that you can lob a 17-time Grand-Slam champion!
The match in New York might have meant nothing for Dimitrov and Federer, but it meant everything for the 12-year-old kid, who will probably remember this moment all his life. Here is the video of the wonder-shot:
