With the US Open done and dusted, tennis fans are already looking forward to the next set of tournaments. Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka emerged victorious in the Men's and Women's categories, respectively, showcasing their exceptional dominance on hard surfaces this season. Both players are also the reigning Australian Open champions.

The US Open was filled with upsets and inspiring stories, as big names like Carlos Alcaraz, Emma Raducanu, Novak Djokovic, and Coco Gauff were eliminated in the early rounds. Despite this, the tournament proved fruitful for the American contingent on their home soil, as they competed in three of the five available finals. Unfortunately, they were unable to secure a victory in any of them but provided plenty for fans to cheer on.

After 20 years, this was the first year where none of the Big Three won any Grand Slams, marking the beginning of a new era for the sport. Although the Grand Slams for this year have concluded, there are still some major ATP and WTA tournaments left in September, which can influence the players' rankings before the end of the year.

With that in mind, let's explore the upcoming tournaments where top-level players can compete and earn accolades in September.

ATP tournaments are scheduled to take place in various locations around the world, providing professionals with opportunities to earn points, improve their rankings, and earn substantial prize money. In September, there will be six ATP events for fans to enjoy.

The Davis Cup Finals Group Stage will take place from September 10-15 in multiple locations. These matches will be played indoors on hard courts and fall under the ITF category. Starting on September 18, the Chengdu Open will be held in Chengdu, China, an ATP 250 tournament played outdoors on hard courts with a total prize money of $1,269,245. Simultaneously, the Hangzhou Open will also commence in Hangzhou, China, another ATP 250 tournament played outdoors on hard courts with a total prize money of $1,081,395. Both the Chengdu and Hangzhou Opens will conclude by September 24.

Following the tournaments in China, the most anticipated event of September is the Laver Cup, held in Germany and named after the legendary Australian tennis player Rod Laver, widely regarded as the greatest player of all time. The Laver Cup changes venues annually, and this year it will take place in Berlin from September 20-22, played indoors on hard courts.

After the Laver Cup, there are two ATP 500 tournaments: the Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships held in Tokyo, Japan, from September 25 to October 1, played outdoors on hard courts with a total prize money of $1,989,865; and the China Open held in Beijing, China, from September 26 to October 2, also played outdoors on hard courts with the highest total prize money of the month at $3,891,650.
