Andrey Rublev, a Russian tennis pro, reached a career-high singles ranking of No. 5 in September 2021, and is ranked No. 10 by the ATP, as of February 2025. Rublev has won 17 ATP singles titles till date, including the prestigious 2023 Monte Carlo Masters. Additionally, He also won the gold medal along with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the mixed doubles at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Rublev lifted his next ATP singles title at the 2025 Qatar Open, eliminating Jack Draper by 7-5, 5-7, 6-1.

He is one of the few male players in the open era to have advanced to the quarterfinals at all four majors. In 2021, he was a member of the Russian Davis Cup-winning team. He claimed the 2024 Madrid Masters title by defeating Felix Auger-Aliassime, thus winning his 2nd Masters-1000 trophy.

The Russian made the decision to practice at the Galo Blanco run 4Slam Tennis Academy in Barcelona when he was 18 years old. He met his coach Fernando Vicente there, and the two have been close companions ever since. Ex-ATP players Galo Blanco, Fernando Vicente, and Jairo Velasco founded 4Slam Tennis, a leading tennis academy in Barcelona. 19 ATP/WTA pros, including top-20 players Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov, have trained at the academy.

Where Does Andrey Rublev Live?

Andrey Rublev is a resident of Moscow, Russia. However, the tennis pro's exact residence is not known for security or privacy concerns. He said in 2021 that he couldn't afford an apartment because of the high expense of tennis and the fact that he had to pay his team members even though he missed the 2020 season due to COVID-19.

Rublev said, “In 2020, I had to pay my team members for five months without competing due to COVID. Luckily, I did not have to pay any air flight ticket. I still earned money, but tennis is a very costly sport.”

For tax reasons, a lot of tennis players prefer to live in Monte Carlo, Monaco, and Rublev also owns a residence there. Andrey Rublev's remarks spark a larger debate about how expensive tennis is, even for the best players. Rublev said that his annual training and travel expenses total $600,000. This covers payments made to his staff, tennis coaches, and physiotherapists.

Who is the Coach of Andrey Rublev?

Andrey Rublev's longtime trainer, Fernando Vicente, is his coach. The two have been training together since 2015, after meeting at the 4Slam Tennis Academy.

The Russian has won four doubles titles and a total of 16 singles titles in his career, and the pair have enjoyed tremendous success together. Rublev achieved his career-high singles ranking of No. 5 under Vicente. Vincente is a former professional tennis player who enjoyed a rewarding career. He won five titles in his career, including three singles titles and two doubles titles. The Spaniard achieved a career-high singles ranking of No. 29 in 2000.

After retiring, he helped establish a tennis school not far from Barcelona. When asked about his relationship with Rublev, Vicente said: “I would say Andrey has made me a better coach. I have learned and continue to learn a lot from him. I think that on my end, he understands what I’m trying to impart, and there’s a very good personal connection, too. If not, it would be impossible to stay together so long.”
