Holger Rune of Denmark is the highest-ranked Danish tennis player in the ATP singles rankings. He is ranked No. 16 in singles as of July 2024 and achieved his career-high ranking of World No. 4 in August 2023.

Rune has four ATP singles titles, including the prestigious Paris Masters in 2022, where he defeated Novak Djokovic in the final. He also reached the quarterfinals of the 2022 French Open, the 2023 Wimbledon, and the 2023 French Open. He registered his 100th win at the 2024 Open Sud de France, defeating Pablo Llamas Ruiz in round 16. With the win, he became the second Danish player in the Open Era after Kenneth Carlsen to achieve such a milestone. He reached the semifinal of the Open Sud de France title, where he lost to Borna Coric.

Rune reached the quarterfinal of the 2024 Monte Carlo Masters after registering a win against Grigor Dimitrov after playing his longest best-of-three match in the tournament. However, he lost to Jannik Sinner in the next round. At the 2024 Indian Wells Masters, he finished quarterfinalist, losing to top seed Daniil Medvedev. He reached the semifinal of the 2024 Bavarian International, losing to Jan-Lennard Struff.

Rune also reached the semifinals of the 2024 Mexican Open, where he lost to Casper Ruud. As the No. 1 junior player in the world, Rune won 10 ITF Junior Circuit titles. After turning pro in 2020, he also won five ATP Challenger Tour titles and five ITF World Tennis Tour titles.

Since 2016, Holger Vitus Nødskov Rune has been training at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy in Biot.

Patrick Mouratoglou established the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy in 1996 and is located in Biot, France. He has coached a number of promising tennis players, including Julia Vakulenko, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Aravane Reza, Irena Pavlovic, Jérémy Chardy, Laura Robson, Yanina Wickmayer, Simona Halep, Grigor Dimitrov, Holger Rune, as well as Marcos Baghdatis.

The Mouratoglou Tennis Academy is one of the best tennis training centers in the world, comprising a total of 33 tennis courts, four swimming pools, a spa along with 30-40 tennis and fitness coaches.
