Why Wimbledon 2015 will be special

The world of men’s tennis is in a new and wonderful phase right now. This is a treat for any tennis fan. Think of this. The man who won the French open nine times in the last ten years loses out in the quarter finals itself and the world number one loses to the world number nine.

For the past three years, tennis fans around the globe have become accustomed to the fact that it is increasingly becoming difficult for a single player to win two grandslams in the same year. The last time it happened was in 2013, when Nadal won the French and the U.S opens. The victory of Stanislas Wawrinka at Roland Garros opens new doors to tennis.

By claiming that grand slam which has always been dominated by a single man, Stan sent out a sign that new winners were emerging. This is a wonderful thing, as it makes it even more diffcult to guess who the chamipon at the oldest tennis tournament at the All-England club will be this year. It could be anybody from Novak to Murray, and it is goign to be a difficult time for betting freaks.

Rafael Nadal

Nadal would never have dreamed he would be in such a condition. He would have wished 2015 did not happen at all. There are no considerable wins for Rafa till now and the clay season ended too. The way he played against Djokovic in the French open showed how low his confidence levels are. Now that he has lost out at his own forte, he has nothing more to lose. In fact, good news for Rafa fans. He has everythnig to gain. He will definitely improve in rankngs by the end of the season if he remains fit physically. He as no points to save. He already has won a tournament on grass, though a 250 event. But then he lost in the first round itself last year in Halle just before Wimbledon. This win is a big boost for him since grass is not his favourite. Though not definitely a favourite, never ever dare to write off Rafa! #vamosrafa

Andy Murray, Stanislas Wawrinka & Novak Djokovic

Murray cannot be forgotten. His form has seen a definite upswing in the past few years. He has performed extremely well in the clay season this year, and will definitely be eyeing a second championship. Now that he is back from illness and has been rejoined by Amelia Mauresmo, he will be even stronger.

Wawrinka has stunned Rafael Nadal in Melbourne in 2014,a very fit Federer and world number one, Djokovic,at the French open this year.in an incredible performance. Who knows, Stan might stun the player the world considers the favourite to win.

Since 2008, the very sportive yet ruthless player, Novak Djokovic has proved his fighting spirit to everyone. There is no doubt that the defending champion is still the favourite to win the tournament. His technique excellent and hs fighting spirit indomitable, and is the world’s best returner. He can practically return any difficult shot except the aces fired from the racquet of one iconic player...

Roger Federer

The iconic player is one of the first names that comes to mind when one thinks of Wimbledon. It is dfficult to imagine tennis wthout him, and his performance at last year’s Wimbledon was iconic. Spectators celebrated when he fired those aces to come from 2-5 down to win the fourth set 7-5 in the finals last year. Whether or not he is the favourite to win statistically speaking, Roger is always the champion to many.

If the French open belonged to Nadal, Wimbledon belongs to Federer.
