Carlos Alcaraz hasn't had it easy at the Championships this year. His last two rounds in particular have been extremely tough and he's had to dig deep to sniff out the win. He has, however, impressed on serve and every time he has come to the net.

Tommy Paul, meanwhile, has carried his rich vein of form from the Queen's Club into the All England Club. He's been scintillating in every match except during his second-round encounter. He's also been solid on serve and hits a hard ball from the back of the court. He's not been afraid to attack the net and it has paid dividends more often than not.

His ability to dictate play from the baseline has also worked tremendously well in his favor and could be an important weapon going forward.

Each one of Alcaraz and Paul's encounters in the past have been extremely tight and we could very likely be in for another such face-off. The American could very well get off to a quick start and give Alcaraz a real run for his money in the opening stages.

The Spaniard remains the firm favorite to come through given his overall experience and his past heroics at the Club. Paul will have to play a near spotless game if he is to down the defending champion.

Pick: Alcaraz in five sets.
