World No. 1 Iga Swiatek was the latest high-profile star to exit the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. She was joined in this list by two-time runner-up Ons Jabeur after the conclusion of third-round matches.

The 2024 Wimbledon Championships has reached its halfway mark after third-round matches of the men's and women's singles draw finished on July 6. Many stars have survived the first week of action, including 2022 champion Elena Rybakina, second seed Coco Gauff, men's top seed Jannik Sinner, and seven-time champion Novak Djokovic, winning their third-round matches in London.

However, not every big-name player emerged victorious, so let's take a look at the four most shocking results from Day 6 of the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.

#4 Harriet Dart

Harriet Dart was among three British women to reach the third round of the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. The World No. 100 defeated Chinese qualifier Bai Zhuoxuan 6-4, 6-0 in the first round and came back from a set down to oust British No. 1 and No. 32 seed Katie Boulter in the second round 4-6, 6-1, 7-6(8).

Dart faced Wang Xinyu in the third round. The Chinese player bettered fifth seed Jessica Pegula in the second round and looked in good touch. The third-round contest was a break-fest as Dart countered the two breaks of her serve by breaking back Xinyu four times to edge out in the first set.

However, Xinyu recovered well in the following two sets to break Dart five times and win the rain-affected contest 2-6 7-5 6-3. The result was a disappointing end to Harriet Dart's bid to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam for the first time in her career.

#3 Emil Ruusuvuori

Finnish No. 1 Emil Ruusuvuori stitched together his best run at a Grand Slam at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. He survived a five-set marathon against Mackenzie McDonald in the first round 7-6 (6), 4-6, 5-7, 7-6 (6), 6-3 and then ousted No. 11 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in an intense second round match 7-6 (6), 7-6 (10), 3-6, 6-3.

Talented Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard awaited Ruusuvuori in his maiden third-round match at SW19. The Finn made a bright start to the match after breaking the lucky loser in the third game and held on to that advantage to take the first set.

Mpetshi Perricard shifted gears and did not face a single breakpoint in the following three sets while ousting the Finn 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (5), 6-4. The Frenchman displayed his big serves, firing 27 aces and hitting 54 winners to record a milestone win.

#2 Iga Swiatek

Women's top seed Iga Swiatek came to the Wimbledon Championships without playing any grasscourt run-up tournaments. She was in search of her first semifinal in London and made a blistering start to her campaign, defeating Sofia Kenin 6-3, 6-4 and Petra Martic 6-4, 6-3.

Iga Swiatek faced the recently crowned Rothesay Classic (Birmingham) champion Yulia Putintseva in the third round. The Pole was on her way to another comfortable win at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club as she took the first set after breaking Putintseva in the sixth game.

The match turned on its head in the second set. A rejuvenated Putintseva absorbed Swiatek's powerful groundstrokes and rarely missed a shot to come back in the contest in the second set. The Kazakh No. 2 maintained her level and took advantage of Swiatek's unforced errors to register an impressive 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 win.

The loss drew curtains on another underwhelming campaign for Iga Swiatek, whose best result at Wimbledon remains her quarterfinal run last year.

#1 Ons Jabeur

Ons Jabeur has been the star at the Wimbledon Championships over the last three years. She came within the hairbreadth for winning the grass slam in the last two years, finishing runner-up to Elena Rybakina and Marketa Vondrousova in 2022 and 2023, respectively. Naturally, she began as the pre-tournament favorite in 2024.

Jabeur was seeded No. 10 at the Wimbledon Championships this year and was at her routine best on the grass while dispatching Moyuka Uchijima 6-1, 6-3 and American qualifier Robin Montgomery 6-1, 7-5. The Tunisian came up against No. 21 seed and last year's semifinalist, Elina Svitolina, in the third round.

However, Jabeur was nowhere near her best, as she was broken by Svitolina twice in the first set without a reply. The Tunisian was much more composed in the second set, and both women went toe-to-toe to hold their serve and play a tiebreaker. Svitolina, who was the better player throughout the match, got the better of Jabeur in the tiebreaker and wrapped up a 6-1, 7-6(4) win to reach the fourth round.
