Fourth seed Elena Rybakina will take on 17th seed Anna Kalinskaya in the fourth round of the Wimbledon Championships on Monday (July 8).
Rybakina is among the top five players on the women's tour this year. She's had a fantastic season so far, amassing title-winning runs in Brisbane, Abu Dhabi and Stuttgart, outfoxing Marta Kostyuk in the final in the latter. She is also the only player to defeat Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek in 2024.
The Kazakh entered Wimbledon on the back of a quarterfinal finish in the German Open. She started her campaign by breezing past Elena Gabriela Ruse 6-3, 6-1. Rybakina then overpowered the likes Laura Siegemund and Caroline Wozniacki en route to the fourth round in London. She hardly broke a sweat against Wozniacki, defeating the Dane, 6-0, 6-1 in just 58 minutes.

Anna Kalinskaya, meanwhile, has made a propitious start to the season by chalking up 24 wins from 36 matches, including runner-up finishes in Dubai and Berlin. She also reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, but lost to Zheng Qinwen in a thrilling three-set bout.
The Russian has been clinical in London so far. She outfoxed the likes of Panna Udvardy and Marie Bouzkova in the first two rounds and then brushed aside Liudmila Samsonova to enter the last 16. Kalinskaya outplayed the 25-year-old Samsonova 7-6(4), 6-2 in the third round.

Elena Rybakina vs Anna Kalinskaya prediction
Both players have had a positive season leading up to the Wimbledon Championships. Rybakina has been more ambitious than Kalinskaya and is constantly involved in important matches on tour. Apart from three titles, she also secured runner-up finishes in Miami and Doha. With her fierce rival Iga Swiatek out of title race, she will surely fancy her chances of holding the Venus Rosewater Dish again.
Kalinskaya, on the contrary, will feel gutted to have not clinched a trophy this year. The Russian reached her first WTA 1000 final in Dubai, but couldn't make her mark against Jasmine Paolini. She's only lost one match on grass this year and will present a tough challange for Rybakina in the fourth round.
The Kazakh's serve has regularly bailed her out of tough situations on court. Against a player like Kalinskaya, she will need to keep a check on her erorrs and covert her half chances. Considering their record on grass and results this year, Rybakina will be the favourite to solve this difficult riddle in the fourth round.
Pick: Rybakina to win in three sets.
