Ons Jabeur vs Elina Svitolina preview
World No. 10 Ons Jabeur will face Elina Svitolina in the third round of the 2024 Wimbledon on Saturday, July 6.
Jabeur secured a 6-3, 6-1 win over Moyuka Uchijima to book a second-round date with qualifier Robin Montgomery. The first set was a walk in the park for the Tunisian as she claimed it for the loss of only one game.
Montgomery held her ground better in the second set but proved to be no match for Jabeur in the end. The latter swept the last three games of the match for a 6-1, 7-5 win.
Svitolina overcame a tough challenge from Magda Linette in the opening round as she managed to beat her 7-5, 6-7 (11), 6-3. She was up against former Wimbledon quarterfinalist Jule Niemeier in the second round.
Svitolina quickly went 2-0 up in the second set, only for Niemeier to get back on serve by winning the next couple of games. The two remained steady on serve over the next few games until the Ukrainian broke the impasse by nabbing the last three games of the set to clinch it.
Svitolina broke Niemeier's serve twice in the second set to race ahead 5-2. The latter went on a two-game run to stop the former from serving out the match. However, the 29-year-old got the job done on her second try for a 6-3, 6-4 win.

Ons Jabeur vs Elina Svitolina prediction
Jabeur played another great match to down Montgomery and reach the third round of Wimbledon for the fourth year in a row. She fired 21 winners in contrast to 17 unforced errors and won 86 percent of her first serve points.
Svitolina was tested from time to time by Niemeier but she managed to outplay her younger rival in crucial moments to win the match. While she leads Jabeur 3-1 in their rivalry, all of her wins came before the Tunisian's ascent to the top of the women's game.
Jabeur is a two-time runner-up at the All England Club, while Svitolina has made the semifinals twice. Both of them reached their career-best result at the venue last year, so a win at this stage is quite crucial for them, as the loser is going to have a significant ranking hit.
Svitolina's mix of defensive and timely offense could make this a competitive affair. However, Jabeur is likely to run circles around her with her variety and could bring an end to the Ukrainian's time in London.
Pick: Ons Jabeur to win in three sets.
