Paula Badosa vs Daria Kasatkina preview
Paula Badosa will lock horns with 14th seed Daria Kasatkina in a highly anticipated third-round clash at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.
Badosa entered the Championships on the back of a run to the quarterfinals in Bad Homburg last week where she succumbed to Russian starlet Diana Shnaider in straight sets. She opened her Wimbledon campaign with a routine 6-3, 6-2 win over Karolína Muchova, who was playing in her first match since the US Open last year after being sidelined with a wrist injury.
Badosa took on Czech teen Brenda Fruhvirtova in the second round. The match saw a whopping nine breaks of serve with the Spaniard eventually coming out on top 6-4, 6-2 in a topsy-turvy encounter.
Kasatkina entered the Wimbledon Championships on the back of a terrific week in Eastbourne where she lifted the crown. She saw off the likes of Yuan Yue, Emma Raducanu, and Jasmine Paolini before brushing aside Leylah Fernandez in a rather one-sided final.
Kasatkina played her first match at the All England Club against Chinese veteran Shuai Zhang and registered a comfortable 6-3, 6-0 win. She dominated Brit Yuriko Miyazaki in the subsequent round, claiming a 6-0, 6-0 win without facing a single breakpoint.

Paula Badosa vs Daria Kasatkina prediction
A blockbuster third-round clash between Paula Badosa and Daria Kasatkina is in the making at the All England Club with both players heading into the match in a rich vein of form.
Badosa has impressed at the All England Club so far, particularly in her return game. She won a whopping 31 points on her opponent's serve in the second round and converted 6 out of 7 break-point opportunities. While she scarcely approached the net, it was effective every time she did.
Kasatkina has played two outstanding matches at the Championships so far, winning three sets without losing a game. She has won 77% of points behind her first serve across both her matches and has been equally potent on the return, converting 11 out of the 17 opportunities presented to her.
Kasatkina enters the contest the favorite to go through given her blistering run so far. Badosa will have to be at her absolute best to be able to challenge the in-form Russian from the back of the court. Attacking the net will also be key for the Spaniard who will look to keep the points short.
Pick: Kasatkina in straight sets.
