Wimbledon 2012 has reached its semifinal stage and the women’s draw has been determined.

The women’s semis promise to be mouth-watering affairs with Angelique Kerber taking on Agnieszka Radwanska and four-time champ Serena Williams facing giant killer Victoria Azarenka. A whopping 128-player list from the first round has been narrowed down to just 4 players now and the American Williams looks the hot favourite to win this year’s final.

Here’s a preview of the semifinal matches.

Angelique Kerber (8) vs Agnieszka Radwanska (3):

German Angelique Kerber who beat Sabine Lisicki 6-3, 6-7, 7-5 in the quarterfinal will face Poland’s Agnieszka Radwanska . Radwanska beat Russian Maria Kirilenko 7-5, 4-6, 7-5 in the quarter-finals.

* Kerber and Radwanska are in their first-ever Wimbledon semis.

** Last meeting: Agnieszka Radwanska beat Angelique Kerber 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Serena Williams (6) vs Victoria Azarenka (2):

Four-time champ Serena Williams beat Petra Kvitova 6-3, 7-5 and Victoria Azarenka beat Tamira Paszek 6-3, 7-6 (7/4) in their respective quarterfinal matches.

The match promises to be an entertaining affair with Williams looking to reclaim Wimbledon glory once again whereas No.2 seed Azarenka will have to put on her best game against Williams to have a chance of reaching the final.
