Top seed Aryna Sabalenka will take on Jasmine Paolini in her second group stage match of the WTA Finals on Monday.

Sabalenka has had a fascinating season so far, having garnered title-winning runs in the Australian Open, Cincinnati Open, Wuhan Open and the US Open. She outfoxed Jessica Pegula in straight sets to lift her maiden title in New York, 7-5, 7-5.

The Belarusian entered Riyadh on the back of 20 wins from 21 matches on tour. She started her campaign with a potent win against Zheng Qinwen in the first group stage bout, 6-3, 6-4. Sabalenka is a heavy favorite to win the WTA Finals this year.

Jasmine Paolini, meanwhile, has been a breath of fresh air on the women's tour. She's garnered 39 wins from 57 matches, including a title-winning run in the Dubai Tennis Championships. She also secured runner-up finishes in the French Open and Wimbledon, where she lost to Barbora Krejcikova in the finals.

The Italian entered Riyadh on the back of a quarterfinal exit in Wuhan. She started her campaign with a solid win against Elena Rybakina in the first bout, 7-6(5), 6-4. Paolini is making her first appearance in the WTA Finals this year.
