India beat Bangladesh by 8 wickets and win the Asia Cup 2016

So, what an evening we've had! It started with a hailstorm and culminated into fireworks. A good game of cricket, great spirit shown by the crowd and an excellent conclusion to the Asia Cup with India being crowned as the Asian champions for a record-breaking 6th time.

The team is now posing with the trophy, jubilant and confident!

"Good thing is that Yuvraj has had good games. We've also got two practice games before the World T20, so that will provide further practice."

" If you've got the yorker, you have the option of bowling it (praising Bumrah)," Dhoni adds. He also praises Pandya for his all-round capabilities.

"Credit to the top order. We have a settled combination," says Dhoni.

MS Dhoni signs the match ball for a fan before going to receive his medal and the winner's cheque.

The medals will now be presented to the victorious Indian team, and also to their support staff.

"Credit to the boys to have made it so far. We have some exciting batsmen and bowlers and we are pretty confident," says Mortaza.

Medals are now being presented to the Bangladeshi side and the support staff.

The man of the series award goes to Sabbir Rahman of Bangladesh for his superlative batting performance.

"We were quite comfortable at the wicket, and we always were under control," says Dhawan.

Alright, Shikhar Dhawan is the man of the match for his match-winning knock of 60!

Medals are now being given away to the match officials- umpires, referees etc.

If India were the favourites for the World T20 and the Asia Cup before this tournament, after its conclusion, they have become even more threatening.

India have six Asia Cup titles now, the most by any team! 8 consecutive wins in T20I by India away from home now!

Dhawan is back in form, Dhoni has got his marauding touch, and Yuvraj had shown in the previous two games that he is more than capable to clear the fence with ease.

India have certainly ticked all the boxes going into the World T20. Their captain hadn't batted much before the final, but turns out that he didn't need to, especially if he can come out and do what he did today!

"The pressure was immense, but if you have a team as performing as this, you really enjoy the challenge," says Shastri.

Ravi Shastri had asked his players to remember the celebration that the Bangladeshis did after they had beaten India last year, and use that as a motivation to perform.

"I always enjoy the crowd being against me. The more they boo me, the more I get the motivation to perform," says a jubilant Kohli after the game.

Dhawan returned to form, with a roaring 60 off 44 and Kohli played the perfect supporting role with a 28-ball 41 of his own.

A heartbreak for the Bangladeshi supporters who stayed till the last ball to watch the match, and eventually see their side come so close, and yet, remain so far from glory!

He finished on 20 off 6, with two game-changing sixes and a boundary to finish the game for India for the umpteenth time!

There was a loud and clear message that was displayed to all the teams yet to take part in the ICC World T20 when an Indian captain, who had played just 9 balls before this match in the tournament came out to bat!
