Formula 1 will be back after a long break to resume its high-performance circus around the world. The Netherlands will be the first venue to host Formula 1 after the summer break. The competition may have started as another year of dominance by Red Bull and Max Verstappen. However, the playing field has leveled up as the season has progressed. There are seven Grand Prix winners in the past races including two new winners - Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. While Red Bull is still a fast car, McLaren has upped their performance to become the best car on the grid.

The Dutch Grand Prix is the home race of the championship leader and the current Formula 1 sensation Max Verstappen. His fans who passionately call themselves the “Orange Army” turn the entire circuit orange in support of Verstappen. The three-time champion has been facing tough competition from his rival drivers. Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren, and Red Bull are going toe to toe every weekend to claim the top spots. The dominance which was prevalent in the past two seasons, has gone down. Formula 1 events have become a show of fight for the race wins in the 2024 season.

Dutch Grand Prix History

The Dutch Grand Prix was introduced in the Formula 1 calendar as early as 1952. But from 1986 to 2019 the race failed to get a contract for hosting a grand prix. It was announced in 2019 that the Dutch GP would rejoin Formula 1 but the race had been canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19. Dutch GP finally made its appearance on the calendar in 2021 and has been a regular race ever since then. The first Dutch GP in Formula 1 was won by Alberto Ascari for Ferrari. Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing is the defending champion of the Dutch GP race.

Dutch Grand Prix 2024 Schedule

The Dutch GP will be held from August 23-25. The Qualifying session is going to be held on August 24 from 3:00 PM local time. The final race will take place on August 25 from 3:00 PM local time. The Dutch GP is going to be a 72-lap event covering a total race distance of 306.587 km. The Dutch GP schedule has been uploaded by Formula 1.

Dutch Grand Prix 2024 Venue

The Dutch Grand Prix in 2024 will be held at the Circuit Zandvoort located in Zandvoort, North Holland, in the Netherlands. The circuit is a 4.259 km long track with 14 turns. As mentioned on the Formula 1 official site, the track is termed a rollercoaster ride. The lap record of this tricky and challenging circuit is held by Lewis Hamilton. He set a time of 1:11.097 at the 2021 Dutch Grand Prix.
