About Puerto Rico Open 2025

The Puerto Rico Open 2025 is scheduled to take place from March 6 to 9 at the Grand Reserve Country Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. The event has a field of 132 golfers competing for a purse of $4 million. Besides the winner's share of the purse, the champion also earns 24 world ranking (Official World Golf Rankings) points and 300 FedEx Cup points.
Puerto Rico Open history
Despite the Puerto Rico Open being integrated into the PGA Tour in 2008, the event is nearly 70 years old, having been established in 1956. It was then played on the PGA's Caribbean Tour, but in 1965, the event was moved to a later date by the sponsors. This led to the event's discontinuation in 1967. Fast forward 37 years, and the event again began on Tour de las Américas in 2004 and 2005. Finally, in 2008, it began as an annual PGA event, but as an alternate event for the WGC-Cadillac Championship and later the WGC-Dell Match Play. Michael Bradley is the only golfer in the event's long history to have won the event twice, in 2009 and 2011, but he hasn't won other events on the PGA Tour as of March 2025.
