ABC's General Hospital often surprises its fans with changes, both in the storyline and cast. The long-running American daily soap, which premiered in April 1963, presents the dynamics between resident families of the fictional town of Port Charles. This includes mobsters, law enforcers, the staff of the titular medical facility, and its patients.
As a long-running soap, GH often follows characters through their story arcs, from birth to adulthood and beyond. As such, the show's plot needs to bring in more characters to keep up the audiences' interest level, recast some characters, and sometimes let go of actors due to their other engagements, or if the storyline demands so.
October 2024 on General Hospital saw many such cast changes, as new actors were introduced, adding to excitement among fans, while some exited, leaving viewers disheartened.

General Hospital: Jophielle Love and other cast exits from the soap
Kelly Monaco
Kelly Monaco's well-loved character is slated to die after a liver transplant surgery on General Hospital. Monaco was last seen on the soap on October 24, 2024, as her character, Sam McCall, was wheeled into the operating theatre after bidding her family a tearful goodbye.
Monaco's exit from the soap's storyline had been discussed by fans for quite some time, before being confirmed by the actor and the production team. Additionally, her exit story was made emotional as the former con woman had turned a more straight chapter in her life in recent years.
Jophielle Love
Finn's daughter, Violet, played by Jophielle Love, has been a fan favorite since the actor debuted in the role in 2019. While the character lost her mother, Hayden, she grew to love her father and his family dearly. Her closeness to her grandfather and her attempts at promoting her father's romance were great attractions for fans.
The GH episode dated October 21, 2024, saw Violet bidding goodbye to her uncle Chase and his wife, Brook Lynn, and Tracy. They had a special farewell tea party before Jophielle's Violet hugged them and cried her way out of Port Charles, to join her father in Seattle.

Chad Duell
Chad Duell plays Michael Corinthos on the ABC soap. He joined the cast in 2010 as a series regular and has been part of the show ever since, except for twice in 2022, when the actor had to be away for personal reasons. At that time, actor Robert Adamson, The Young and the Restless fame, stepped in for him.
As Chad faces some scheduling issues, he is temporarily exiting the soap and Adamson is filling in for him again. While Adamson will appear in one episode in October 2024, he will be seen more on the soap as Michael in November 2024.

Robert Gossett
Robert Gossett plays Marshall Ashford, Curtis Ashford's father, on the soap. The 70-year-old actor joined the show's cast in 2021 and became a significant part of the Curtis-Portia-Trina family. However, recently the character got the opportunity to go on a tour with jazz maestro Wynton Marsalis. After his initial reluctance, he was convinced by his family to take up the offer.
While Marshall's family gifted him a special farewell on October 22, 2024, chaos broke out at the party when Ric announced Heather Webber's release, which could put Trina's life in danger. While Curtis and Portia are worried about their daughter, Marshall's concern about his granddaughter's safety has not yet been presented. There is no news about Marshall canceling his travel plans as of now.
General Hospital: October entrants in the storyline
Scott Reeves
Scott Reeves appeared on General Hospital on October 24, 2024, as his character Steven Lars Webber returned to Port Charles. Steven was the head of the trauma unit of the medical center till 2013 when he left town. Being the son of criminal Heather Webber and her husband Jeff, Steven was sent to prison over his mother's criminal activities.
Steven was released after 11 years and restarted in Arizona. Now that Heather was released from prison, she asked to see her son. Further, Steven arrived in town at the request but was soon called into a deal by Curtis Ashford. Scott Reeves' Steven was also seen meeting and bonding briefly with his sister, Elizabeth, at the hospital.
Finn Francis Carr
Actor Finn Carr plays Rocco Falconeri, Dante Falconeri's son on the soap. He started reprising the role of the growing teenager in July 2022. Since then, Finn has made occasional appearances on the show. He had long absences from the show since his introduction to the role. However, he started reappearing intermittently since March 2024.
Finn was most recently seen in October 2024, as Sam McCall was slated to go under the knife, and Sam and Dante explained the surgery and reassured the kids. Further, Finn's Rocco was seen bonding with Danny and Scout. He also joined in the group family hug.
It is also worth mentioning that, this October, Closer magazine confirmed that Leslie Charleson, who played Monica Quartermaine on the soap, is not likely to return to the show. She was last seen in December 2023, and fans have been hoping to see her again. However, there is no official word yet from the production team or the network.
