"Already making Lulu unlikable”— General Hospital fans feel Lulu's character is becoming too toxic too soon

Lulu Spencer's character on General Hospital had been in a coma for four years and recently she woke up after a liver transplant. Her liver donor was supposed to be her brother Lucky Spencer, but instead, it was Sam McCall. While her return was celebrated by fans and family alike, her recent character arc has caused a section of fans to dislike her. With her re-awakening, her character was also recast. Lulu is currently being played by Alexa Havins.

Fans took to Facebook to criticize her behavioral issues right after waking up from the coma. Some found her to be disrespectful and her unwillingness to acknowledge that life moved on for her loved ones while she was away caused fans to comment on her character on General Hospital. One fan said,

"Already making Lulu unlikeable."

Lulu Spencer was earlier portrayed on General Hospital by Julie Berman and Emme Rylan, both of whose acting was critically acclaimed by fans and viewers alike. They had also won several Daytime Emmy Awards for their portrayal of Lulu. Lulu's re-introduction on the show caused fans to feel like her character needed further growth. They did not like how her portrayal was harsh and disrespectful toward other characters on the show.

Fans of General Hospital were vocal about how they did not like how her recent portrayal was written. Her character, despite having gone through several traumatic instances, seemed to be stagnant and not much emotional growth has been added since 2020 when she went into the coma.

Lulu, upon her return, rekindled her relationship with her ex-husband Dante Falconeri, and her mother Laura Collins. Both of them were seen struggling emotionally to grasp her return to Port Charles. Her relationship with the Spencer family was shown to be progressing in the recent episodes of General Hospital. Moreover, her swift recovery from her liver transplant shocked many fans.

Recent plotlines on General Hospital

Recent developments on General Hospital showed Dex Heller's sudden death while working as a law enforcer. Sam McCall and Dex's deaths seemed to be eerily similar and fans suspected the killer might have been the same. The criminal has yet to be caught on the show. Jordan and Isaiah's budding relationship and Drew and Willow's affair added an element of drama to the show.

The upcoming episodes will show Cameron Webber's return as well as Sonny Corinthos and Cyrus Renault's fight for their underworld empires. Josslyn Jacks and Anna Devane were seen struggling to cope with Dex's death. Teasers and spoilers for the show suggest Josslyn could be seen growing close to Jack amidst her emotional turmoil.
