Days of Our Lives, an NBC soap opera, first aired on November 8, 1965, and was taken over by Peacock on September 12, 2024. The show is based in the fictional town of Salem and primarily focuses on four families in the city: the Bradys, Hortons, DiMeras and Kiriakis.
In recent episodes of Days of Our Lives, viewers witnessed the return of two old characters from the past, Chad and Jack. They uncover a hidden truth as they are on the quest to find the reason behind Abigail’s death and the hanging fate of Holly and Tate’s budding relationship.

The returns
1) Serena Scott Thomas as Fiona Cook
In the recent episode aired on July 22, 2024, Fiona Cook returned to Days of Our Lives, during the double wedding of Sarah with Xander and Theresa with Alex. With the return of Fiona, came a shocking revelation that she's Xander’s biological mother. Fiona also revealed that Xander’s biological father is Victor and not Titus.
Fiona’s return is driven by her desire to connect with her son Xander, but the secrets she has been carrying might raise tension in Salem.
2) Deidre Hall as Hattie Adams
In the episode aired on July 30, 2024, Marlena’s doppelganger Hattie Adams, played by Deidre Hall, returned to Salem. Hall announced her return to Days of Our Lives via an Instagram post on July 27, 2024, that reads “She’s baaaaaack!”
As soon as Hattie got back, she auditioned to be a part of the soap opera Body & Soul within DOOL. Before her return, the character was last seen in 2020.
The exits
1) Arianne Zucker as Nicole Walker
The last episode of Nicole Walker on Days of Our Lives aired on July 29, 2024. The character, which was first seen on February 27, 1998, has been played by Arianne Zucker.
The characters’ exit is led by the legal dispute between the director/producer Albert Alarr, who is accused of se**al harassment by Arianne Zucker.
Nicole Walker left Salem with her love Eric Brady and moved to Paris. It shows that even though the actor’s contract was not renewed, the character of Nicole might recur in the future.
2) Greg Vaughan as Eric Brady
Eric Brady left Salem with his beloved Nicole Walker to start a new life with Nicole and his son Jude.
The couple moved to Paris for a better life. Although Eric has left the town, it doesn’t mean his journey is over on the show. Eric will return to Salem in the future as the storyline develops.
Eric first appeared on Days of Our Lives on October 16, 1984, and was played by Rory Beauregard until 1985.
He was subsequently played by Jesse Davis from 1985 to 1986, Edward Palma in 1986, Bradley Hallock from 1986 to 1992, Scotty Hauser in 1997, Jensen Ackles from 1997 to 2000, and Jason Gerhardt in 2023. From 2012, the role of Eric Brady has been played by Greg Vaughan.
