Days of Our Lives spoilers: Is Abigail working with someone?

Days of Our Lives fans went into a tizzy this week as AnnaLynne McCord's character was revealed to be Abigail all along. The character has taken her place at the DiMera mansion with Chad and Jack, who are immensely relieved to have her back after two years of thinking her dead.

However, there's still doubt about whether this woman is truly Abigail or someone else with a hidden agenda. In a promo for August 19, she makes a mysterious call, hinting that she's working with someone on a secret plan. The soap has yet to reveal the person behind the call or the purpose of the plan.

The character was introduced in 1992 as Jack Devereaux and Jennifer Horton's daughter. Abigail has had romantic relationships with Chad DiMera, Dario Hernandez and Stefan DiMera. The character has also featured in a spinoff show called Chad and Abby in Paris.

She announced that everything was going according to plan, raising suspicion that she was working with someone. However, her goals have not been revealed yet, paving the way for a very interesting plot indeed.

Abigail was originally presumed dead on Days of Our Lives until last week when actress AnnaLynne McCord's mystery character was revealed to be her. A DNA test confirmed that Abigail was alive, and this Jane Doe took on her identity.

The character's true identity remains uncertain. It's possible that Abigail had amnesia and plastic surgery, but DNA tests in Salem have been wrong before. So, this might not be Abigail after all.

Abigail DiMera's current storyline on Days of Our Lives

Abigail was introduced on Days of Our Lives in 1992 and was most popularly portrayed by the actress Marci Miller. Multiple other actresses have played the character, including Megan Corletto, Jillian Clare, Ashley Benson, Emily Montague, and Kate Mansi.

Many of Abigail's storylines involved her romances in Salem, along with her expanding dual identities as Gabby and Dr Laura. However, the character was killed off in 2022 after she was stabbed. Abigail was unable to reach the hospital in time and succumbed to her wounds.

But Abigail's story did not end there. In an episode on August 8, 2024, Chad and Jack come across a mystery woman in Missouri, who had amnesia after suffering from an accident. The two correlated the woman's accident with the time of Abigail's death. Later, a DNA test revealed that Jane Doe was indeed the character returning from the dead.

In recent episodes, Abigail has had scenes with her family members Chad and Jack. However, she does not remember any of them and feels very out of place at the DiMera mansion.
