Sarah Horton, played by Linsey Godfrey on Days of Our Lives, has recovered from her partial paralysis and started walking again. Her impossible condition improved due to Dr. Rolf's revolutionary regenerative serum, which Kristen helped procure.

While her Thanksgiving meal saw her walking slowly with a cane, spoilers suggest her condition will improve manifold. This also means she and her husband, Xander Kiriakis, will need to pay back the benefactors for the regenerative serum.

NBC's Days of Our Lives is one of the longest-running American daily soaps, airing since November 1965. The soap's plot follows a few influential families in the fictional Salem city. Some of the powerful families from the soap are the Kiriakis, the Hortons, the Bradys, and the DiMeras.

Sarah belongs to the Horton family and is currently married to Xander Kiriakis, Victor Kiriakis's heir. Introduced into the storyline in 1981 with her birth, Sarah was initially played by various child actors before the character was sidelined for almost two decades. Linsey Godfrey joined the show in 2018 as Sarah grew up to be a certified doctor.

Days of Our Lives: Why was Sarah unable to walk?

Sarah invited Xander's biological mother, Fiona Cook, to attend her and Xander's wedding. Fiona, who had alcoholism, hooked up with Brady Black and went on a drunk drive. While Brady was in a drunken stupor, an inebriated Fiona ran her car over Sarah on the road. The accident left Sarah paralyzed below her waist.

Learning that Xander Kiriakis would do anything to cure Sarah's paralysis, Kristen offered to give the couple a regenerative serum developed by the shady Dr. Rolf. However, in return for the serum, Kristen wanted Xander to hand over the Kiriakis business empire, Titan.

Xander, who had recently inherited Titan through Victor's will, was ready to write off the company to Kristen for the serum. However, Victor's long-estranged son, Philip Kiriakis, arrived in Salem to claim his rights in the company. Due to the legal litigation, Xander was not able to give Kristen the price for the serum.

Despite attempts at hiding the truth, Fiona's crime was eventually exposed, and she was arrested. Brady Black was one of the whistleblowers for Fiona's crime. He also met Sarah and learned about the current state of her recovery. He promised to help Sarah and emotionally manipulated Kristen into giving Sarah the serum.

Days of Our Lives: What does Sarah's recovery mean for the storyline?

The Days of Our Lives episode that aired on November 15, 2024, saw Sarah Horton-Kiriakis ready to receive her serum injection despite medical warnings from Doctor Kayla. Eager to regain her legs, Sarah accepted the risks involved.

Then during the Thanksgiving meal shown on the Days of Our Lives episode dated November 26, 2024, Sarah was seen walking into the room using a cane for support. This hinted at her body responding to the medicine positively. As the regenerative serum heals her body, she is expected to reclaim her normal gait.

As the spoilers suggest, Sarah would need to pay back for her treatment, as she won't be letting go of her health again. Knowing her benefactors, Kirsten and Dr. Rolf, the price for the treatment may not be something regular or legal. As such, Sarah may get pulled into something illegal or criminal.

As of now, it is unclear whether the regenerative serum is a one-time treatment or if Sarah will need follow-up injections. However, she may need to play into the hands of the various nefarious characters surrounding her to hold on to her happy marriage, good health, and baby Victoria's future. That may involve medical crimes by the accomplished doctor.
