In recent episodes of the soap, Ava started receiving threatening texts as she started dating Brady. Though the characters in Salem are still trying to figure out the origin of these texts, the show has revealed the face behind the scenes to the viewers: Rachel Black.
Rachel is the daughter of Brady and his ex Kristen DiMera, and she is the one who has been sending Ava threatening texts. It seems clear that she is unhappy with her father going on dates with Ava, but it remains to be seen whether she has some more damaging schemes up her sleeve for Ava.
Why is Rachel sending Ava threatening messages? Days of Our Lives plot dynamics explored
In the December 26 episode of Days of Our Lives, Ava was seen trying to uncover the identity of the person sending her threatening messages, as she enlisted Steve’s detective skills to track down the mysterious texter. However, as of yet, he has not managed to pinpoint the location or identity of the texter.
But audiences were in for a surprise during the following scene, as the person behind the texts was revealed to viewers. Initially, fans suspected the person sending the messages could be Kristen DiMera. However, it turned out to be Kristen and Brady's daughter, Rachel.
Rachel also orchestrated several things going wrong with Ava and Brady's first date, including their missing tickets for The Nutcracker play, followed by a Wi-Fi blackout at home when the pair tried to watch a movie. This was followed by threatening texts on Ava's phone, interrupting the date once more.
Ava requested Steve to track down the burner phone that was sending her the texts, right before the audience found out that it was Rachel. It is likely that Rachel witnessed her mother Kristen’s dislike of Ava, which translated as protectiveness over her father and a natural dislike towards Ava.
This has now led to threatening messages that read, "Stay away from Brady... OR ELSE!," indicating that Rachel might even try to sabotage Ava. Now that Steve is on the case and zeroing in on the phone's location, the question remains as to whether the residents of Salem will find out what Rachel is doing.
It remains to be seen whether these are just empty threats or Rachel truly has more sinister tricks up her sleeve.
Audiences can watch Days of Our Lives streaming online via Peacock, as new episodes of the soap are released every weekday.
