Days of Our Lives has released its weekly preview for the week of December 9, to December 13, 2024. The long-running NBC daily soap, which has aired on Peacock since 2022, is set to offer thrilling action after the sad Thanksgiving week that focused on Doug's demise and funeral.

Days of Our Lives, which premiered in November 1965, presents the interpersonal dynamics between the residents of the fictional Salem city. Some of the prominent families in the soap's storyline are the Hortons, the Kiriakis, the Bradys, and the DiMeras.

According to the current plot dynamics, the Horton family is going through the grief of losing Doug Williams while the Kiriakis family is facing a power struggle at the family business. The DiMera family and the Brady family have their own troubles to solve.

Days of Our Lives: Salem will see unexpected twists and action

The preview for the week of December 9, 2024, released on the Facebook page of Days of Our Lives, hinted at unexpected twists. As viewers already know, Doug Williams had a tearful funeral recently. After his funeral when Julie Williams visited her husband's grave, she met Doug's long-lost grandson, also named Doug.

While Salem residents made the new entrant feel welcome, Hope Brady was suspicious of the suddenly-arrived nephew as she told Kayla and Steve. The preview showed Doug III stealing the heirloom necklace from a box in the Horton house. Later, when Julie wondered where the necklace was, Jennifer informed her that it had been stolen.

Both the new Doug and Hope were in the Horton house and reacted to the news of the stolen jewelry differently. While the audacious Doug III was seen hugging and comforting Julie over the news of the stolen necklace, Hope Brady seemed distrustful of the shady family member. She might question how the necklace, which had been part of the family collection, vanished after the new arrival.

The spoilers also focused on Brady Black's women. Belle was seen pestering Brady for the identity of the person he was going on a date with. When Brady named Ava Vitali, Belle was both surprised and unhappy. She may give the reasons for her displeasure.

On the other hand, Ava and Kristen looked like they were slated for a violent faceoff in the upcoming episodes. As known already, Kristen DiMera is crazy about Brady and wants to get back with him. Brady recently manipulated her feelings to force her to give Dr. Rolf's regeneration serum to Sarah Kiriakis. In return, Kristen is expecting Brady to come back to her.

However, Brady and Ava are getting romantically involved. This is likely to make Kristen furious. That explains the confrontation shown in the preview where Ava answered Kristen's slap with a returning slap. How this friction may pan out remains to be seen.

More action-packed spoilers show JJ, Gabi, Clyde, Chad and more wielding firearms. JJ seemed to come to Gabi's rescue while Cat Greene shouted, "No" after Chad was seen holding a gun. The promo ended with the sound of a gunshot and who fired it remains to be seen.

Elsewhere, there was a quick shot of Sarah Horton sitting on Xander Kiriakis's back while the husband exercised. The other residents such as Jada, Shawn, Marlena, and Leo are seen having conversations.

Catch the upcoming drama on Days of Our Lives on Peacock every weekday as Julie's new visitor is unmasked and residents encounter danger from the criminal Clyde Weston.
