Days of Our Lives weekly recap (October 28 to November 1): A web of misunderstandings

Days of Our Lives explored the aftermath of Cat's reveal as the con artist behind "Abigail". After their return to Salem, Chad was heartbroken and angry that he let someone fool him into believing that his wife was back. Meanwhile, Cat and Mark were worried about the fate of their mother, Catharina.

On the other hand, Holly hoped to speak to Tate and sort things out between the two of them. Unknown to her, Tate and Sophia got closer to each other. Johnny asked Joy to keep a secret in the hopes of forgiveness from his wife Chanel.

Monday, October 28: Star-Crossed Love

Philip Kiriakis arrived in Salem and contested his brother Xander's decision to sign the family company Titan over to Kristen. The brothers argued over who had rights to the company as per their father Victor's will. On a happier familial note, Eric said goodbye to Brady and left to pack his bags for Paris.

Gabi's cousin Javi came into town and both cousins had an ecstatic reunion. Gabi then received signed divorce papers and felt heartbroken that Stefan would want to split from her. Meanwhile, Vivian and Ivan kidnapped an unconscious Stefan and drove him away, stopping him from meeting Gabi and fighting for his marriage.

Tuesday, October 29: Jail Time

Steve and Chad returned to town from Paris and revealed that "Abigail" was Cat pretending to be a con artist to save her mother Catharina's life. Meanwhile, Mark and Cat discussed their predicament in their jail cells, wondering how to keep their mother safe from Clyde.

Holly met up with Eric and told him that she forgave him for everything in the past. Happily, Eric made up with her and informed Holly that he was leaving for Paris to be with Nicole and Jude. On her part, Holly decided that it was time for her to reconcile with Tate.

Wednesday, October 30: The Path to Mystery

Kayla and Roman discussed what Chad would do to grieve Abigail all over again after the situation with Cat. In shocking news, Steve found out that Clyde escaped custody while being transferred from one prison to another. Meanwhile, Chad and Cat had a conversation while she was in her holding cell, where she admitted to him that she did not know where Abigail's body was and why her grave was empty.

Holly decided to go to Tate's house to try and win him back. However, busy spending the night with Sophia, Tate did not come across Holly's text messages or hear her at his door.

Thursday, October 31: A Halloween Soap Opera

The episode mainly revolved around a slasher-horror dream that Leo had when he fell asleep working on a script for Body and Soul. Meanwhile, Alex and Stephanie realized that the news about their involvement was more widespread than they would have liked.

Johnny apologized to Chanel for his behavior and for suspecting that she was cheating on him with Alex. At the same moment, Kate entered the room to introduce Joy as the latest cast member of Body and Soul, making Johnny tense.

Friday, November 1: The Line of Love

Xander and Philip remained at each other's throats and sparred about what to do with Titan. Tate finally saw Holly's text and realized that he was in a sticky situation. He decided to meet up with Holly, regardless.

Johnny spoke to Joy on the Body and Soul set and asked her to keep their night together a secret from Chanel. Meanwhile, Kate convinced Chanel that Johnny's heart was in the right place, and she decided to forgive him.
